WEITOPEN! - and how everything started
A farm.
WEITOPEN! is located on an old farm, which was bought by Klaus and Adelheid Köhler and Werner and Marianne Kosmalla when it was in need of renovation. It started as a “Meeting place for Christians of all Denominations” from the surrounding region.
Youth work.
Under the careful leadership of Klaus and Adelheid a fast-growing youth ministry was born. This increasingly influenced the spiritual character of the meeting place. The team members continually opened themselves more and more for the Holy Spirit’s moving, and God confirmed the multi-denominational ministry with conversions, signs and many miracles!
Founding of an association.
The core team, a committed community, made the advancement of practical and spiritual development their mission. They became an official association in 1988.
Peace before the storm.
After 1993 came years of inner equipping and mutual sharpening. In preparation for the next phases of development, God completely cut back all public ministry. There followed real “wilderness years”, during which the core team completely changed again.
Calling.
In 1995 the multi-denominational ministry of WEITOPEN! began again. Today, the WEITOPEN! team still lives as a community, in an accountable international community, currently with 30 adults and 12 children. The building up of individual character and the development of their calling as a community still stand as primary focal points.
Foundation.
The foundation of the WEITOPEN! community has been throughout all the years and is still today a practical, spiritual and unified community. Since 1980, not only has the farmhouse been completely renovated but at the same time an international prophetic and apostolic ministry has been built.
